You cannot learn smithing from Eorlund Gray-Mane in Whiterun because he is a master blacksmith and member of the Companions, a group of warriors, not a teacher or trainer. Eorlund focuses on creating and improving weapons and armor for the Companions, rather than teaching others his craft. If you want to learn smithing in Whiterun, you can visit Adrianne Avenicci at Warmaiden's, who is a skilled blacksmith and may be willing to teach you. **

After the capture of Ulfric Stormcloak, the Jarl of Whiterun, Balgruuf the Greater, remains in his position as the ruler of Whiterun. He continues to govern the hold and manage its affairs, including dealing with the ongoing civil war and the tensions between the Stormcloaks and the Imperial Legion. Depending on the choices made by the player in the game, Balgruuf may eventually be replaced as Jarl, but this is not directly related to Ulfric's capture. **
